I believe that there is an unknown balance between humans and nature. We cannot live without nature but nature, can easily live without us.
The light trickles down on the dead leaves surrounding my feet. I look up and see some leaves still clinging to their branches. They look as if they are in pain. A leaf breaks off of the branch; it was holding on too. It twirls and slowly picks up the speed then it hits the ground. The leaves around where it lands quiver and shake from impact. The cold wind blows, just cold enough to remind me that winter is hanging around. If I take a deep breath, I can start to smell the soft scent of spring. There is a sapling in front of me, I tell it to hold on a little longer, it will be warmer in a couple days. I hope the sapling survives; then again I hope a lot of things for nature's sake. If we kill all of our nature; the balance will be ruined. We rely on nature for so many resources. Nature does not need us, we are just holding it back.
