"Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well." Voltaire
On this incredibly Spring-like day, we have a tremendous amount to appreciate! This week we are using our Spring fever energy to draft, and even complete, many of our Heroes' Night projects. The kids have begun writing their biographical report draft and are moving through the writing process to craft a final copy. Most will bring those home to type, or handwrite, for homework. The Venn diagrams , timelines, and portraits are in process and looking great! We are so grateful for the huge amount of support this Expedition receives from you wonderful families and our Evergreen community. We truly could not do it without you. From traveling with your child to an interview, watching the interview videos and helping with note-taking, to communicating issues and concerns to us, you all are truly appreciated. The administration and teachers of Evergreen support us in so many ways, be it accommodating hero visits or letting us take up every available space for interviewing and having our monument supplies spilling into common areas. We love our school family!!
This week, we started Art classes with Ms. Kati on Tuesdays(M&D's class) and Thursdays(E&C's class). She is helping the kids begin their Hero's portrait. In Music, Ms. Tonya is working with our classes on performance pieces for the big event! The kids are working with Mr. Kevin to create monuments for their Minecraft community and in Media, Ms. Laura is helping us all become Ipad experts and poets! The kids are loving P.E. workouts and competition with Ms. Jo and looking forward to more classes outside in the sunshine! We are also looking ahead to our climbing wall day, April 4th! Our next CREW day is approaching, so check out the CREW page to see if your child's CREW needs supplies or other support.
Today we sent home Monument building details and the rubric. If you have any questions, concerns, or need supplies please contact us. Please encourage your child to think creatively, be independent, have fun, and honor their hero and what they advocate for.
Election reminder: Our campus is a voting site so Tuesday's traffic might be a bit congested. Also, REMEMBER TO VOTE! "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." Anne Frank
Have a wonderful week!
